1. Choose Your Pumpkin Wisely
When choosing a pumpkin one must take into consideration the potential of each pumpkin. I'm a firm believer in letting the pumpkin guide you; take a look at it's grooves, it could be a witches wrinkle! Or instead of being too tall, that awkward squash could be Frankenstein!
4. The Right Tool For the Right Job
I learnt long ago that there is always the right tool for the right job; carving being no exception. Those kits that you see at the grocery store? Yeah, buy one. It will save you time and effort and make you feel like an instant pumpkin pro.
Use the serrated edge to make smooth lines, and use the scoop to shave depth if you're feeling like a Picasso.
5. Light It Up!
You could go the traditional tea-light route; which adds an extra creepiness factor with the flickering action. Or you could keep it cool and steady with battery powered tea lights. Cool thing about battery powered ones? Sometimes you get lucky and find them in different colours: LIKE RED!
